Requirements for APEX lab


The list of required instrumentation for APEX lab that have to be obtained is rather short as the technology itself is very user friendly - first block lists down the items that are included to the Genorama Platform package as the second one is about lab equipment that is available from various suppliers and have to be obtained separately by the customer. The third block describes requirements for the laboratory space needed for APEX reactions.

Instrumentation that come along with Genorama Platform:

  • Genorama® QuattroimagerTM
  • Notebook computer with pre-installed software
  • Thermal plate with humidified chamber
  • Mini-centrifuge (1.5 ml tubes)
  • HotPot for boiling water
  • Slide rack and washing bath

Additional instrumentation required for APEX procedure:
  • PCR thermocyclers (must allow touchdown feature)*
  • Vortex*
  • Two Block Heaters for 1.5 ml tubes*
  • Automatic pipettes (0.5, 10, 20, 200 μl and 1ml scale)*
  • Centrifuge for 1.5 ml tubes*
  • Gel electrophoresis station*   
*Various producers

Requirements for the laboratory space:
  • Clean workspace environment
  • At least 2 – 2.5 m lab worktop (Genorama dimensions W x D x H: 55 x 46 x 22 cm (22 x 19 x 9 inches), weight 30 kg (72 lbs)
  • Space for other equipment: computer, heating blocks, centrifuge and thermal plate
  • Sink (can be in the other room)
  • Extension cord
